Q. What’s the difference between Underglazes and Acrylics?
A.
Underglazes – your pottery items will need to be returned to be glazed and fired in the kiln. This will create a lovely smooth glossy finish and your items will be dishwasher, microwave and food safe. They will be ready for collection in 3 to 4 days. Suitable for all the pottery available. It is a water based, non-toxic product that is completely safe for children to use.

Acrylics - When these colours are used to paint your pottery, there is no need for them to be returned, making them ideal for ornamental pieces.  Simply paint and leave to dry. Quick drying to a matt finish. These paints are not suitable for tableware items as they will not be dishwasher, microwave or food safe. It is a water based, non-toxic product that is completely safe for children to use.

Q. How long can I keep the Take-home kit for if using underglazes?
A. The kit hire is for 2 days (up to 48 hours) from the time of collection, giving you plenty of time to create your masterpiece!

Q. When will I get my pottery back?
A.  They will be ready in 3 to 4 days, however at busier times, it can take around 7 days. Please ask if you need your pottery back sooner, we will try our best to accommodate!

Q. Do I have to pay a kit deposit if I choose to paint with Acrylics?
A.
No! No deposit is required when choosing Acrylics as the items don’t need to be returned for a kiln firing. All materials in the kit are yours to keep.
