Deposits & Payments:

Take-Home Kits:  A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required before collection of your Take-home kit. £20 refundable Kit deposit is required on all Take-home kits. This is fully refundable once the kit is returned.  The kit (paint brushes, sponges, palettes and paint bottles or tubs) must be returned in the same good condition as it was when received to qualify for a deposit refund.

Group/Party bookings: 

If you book party package Option 1 (DIY Kit for a group/party of 8 or more), £35 refundable Kit deposit is required. This is fully refundable once the kit is returned.  The kit (paint brushes, sponges, palettes and paint bottles or tubs) must be returned in the same good condition as it was when received to qualify for a deposit refund.  There is no minimum spend on Party Package Option 1.

If you book party package Option 2 (for a group/party of 8 or more plus a member of Pot-Sian staff being present), we will ask for a deposit of £40 to secure your booking.  Minimum number of 8 painters, minimum spend of £12 each.  For larger groups of 20+ the minimum spend is £10 each.

Booking fee payment is required on the day of the booking.  Payment can be made through our website, by cash in person or by bank transfer.  If you need to cancel or change the date of your booking, we request 48 hrs notice. If you do not provide 48hrs notice, we will not be able to refund the £40 Booking fee unless a reschedule is arranged. Only the pottery items that were booked and purchased for the cancelled party will be refunded.

If you simply need to amend the numbers attending, providing you give 24hrs notice we will refund for the pottery that is no longer needed. Minimum number of painters in the party must remain at 8.

Commission work:  For commission work, a deposit will be required when ordering. The amount will depend on the final cost of the item and will be discussed with you. The remainder of the payment will be required on collection or before delivery. Full payment for the personalised free-standing letters are to be made when ordering.

Gift Vouchers:  Gift Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Please don’t lose your voucher as you’ll need to return it for it to be redeemed.

Gift vouchers cannot be exchanged for money or refunded.

General Pottery/Firing:

Please ensure that hands are clean whilst pottery painting.  Any grease, oils or moisturisers (including baby wipes) on your hands could ruin the paint and glaze finish, which cannot be rectified.  We are not responsible or liable for greasy marks on the pottery.

When firing pottery in a kiln, on rare occasions things can go wrong. This is because by the very nature of the process and the chemical changes that happen at high temperatures, a flaw may occur.  If this happens then we will endeavour to rectify and save your work of art but if that is not possible, we will replace your item with a new item of bisque to the value of that piece to give you an opportunity to paint again.

If you want help in making children’s hand or footprints please notify us in advance as extra safety measures will need to be put in place.

We are often asked to add wording or extra artwork onto painted items. We are happy to add a name and date to pieces for you free of charge. If you would like more writing there will be a charge of 50p per word. If you would like any artwork this will be charged as a commission order, please ask for a quote.

We endeavour to have your work glazed and fired within 4 days, however during busy times this can take up to 7 days.

Collection & Deliveries:

All completed products are inspected thoroughly before being packed safely.  Items are delivered by Collect+ couriers using the Economy Parcel Delivery service, typically 3 – 5 working days for delivery to your door. The purchaser is responsible for the postage cost which must be paid for when ordering.  All packages are tracked and insured and needs a signature on delivery. Pot-Sian are not liable for any outcome of missed delivery attempt by the courier.  Pot-Sian cannot give you a specific delivery date and are not held responsible for the duration in transit.

Due to Covid-19 deliveries may take a little longer.

Pot-Sian cannot be held responsible, accountable or liable for any loss or damage to your finished pieces, howsoever caused, once the finished pieces are in the hands of a postal/delivery agent other than an employee of Pot-Sian.

If your items have arrived damaged, proof by sending a photo to Pot-Sian will be required within 24 hours of delivery. Thereafter, a claim will be put in with the couriers.

Pot-Sian cannot be held responsible for accidental damage to your finished product once it is in your possession. On collection or delivery of your product, you are advised to inspect the items for any damage.

We have limited storage space therefore we will keep your work for a maximum of 6 months. If you have not collected withing that time, or you do not contact us, you risk the pieces being disposed of.


Pot-Sian reserve the right to discontinue products, to change specifications, or price of its products at any time without notice and without incurring any obligation whatsoever.

All underglazes, glazes, and paints used by Pot-Sian are water soluble (unless advised otherwise) and as such, the purchaser agrees to assume all liabilities for any and all damages or consequential damages, resulting from use, misuse or accidental spillage of our products during use at our studio, their own home or any venue by the event/party organiser and by their guests and attendees. The purchaser further agrees that Pot-Sian shall not be responsible, accountable or liable in any way for bodily injury resulting from the misuse of any equipment supplied by Pot-Sian for use at a party, event or take-home kits used in your own home or other venue.

In the event of loss or damage occurring during the glazing or firing process, Pot-Sian accepts no responsibility or liability for claims in relation to ‘emotional distress’ or ‘trauma’. The purchaser agrees that Pot-Sian shall be liable only for the cost of replacement and/or refund to the original value of the item.

In booking Pot-Sian for your party, event or buying a Take-home kit, you hereby agree to have read, understood and be bound by our terms and conditions.
